Straight answers about lock fitting
How much does it cost to have a lock fitted?
On Locks Fitted a standard euro cylinder replacement is typically £65–£95 fitted and an anti-snap TS007 3-star upgrade £110–£140 fitted, including the part. A BS3621 mortice deadlock on a wooden door is usually £140–£190. The exact figure is shown per locksmith before you book, and confirmed at the door before any work starts.
Can I buy the lock and fit it myself?
Yes. Most euro cylinders are held by a single screw through the door edge and take about ten minutes to swap. Each product page says how easy the job is and how to measure, and you can add fitting later if you change your mind.
How do I measure a euro cylinder?
Measure from the centre of the fixing screw hole to each end of the cylinder, in millimetres. Those two numbers are the size, for example 40/50. Our photo tool can estimate it from a picture with a coin for scale.
What is an anti-snap or TS007 3-star cylinder?
Lock snapping is the most common way uPVC and composite doors are broken into. A TS007 3-star cylinder is tested to resist snapping, drilling and picking, and is what most insurers and police Secured by Design guidance recommend for external doors.
Are the locksmiths vetted?
Every listed locksmith is identity and insurance checked, and reviews only come from customers who booked through Locks Fitted, so they can't be bought or faked.
Do you cover emergencies and lock-outs?
Yes. Locksmiths who are online now appear with a live ETA. Non-destructive entry is always attempted first, and any replacement lock is priced from the catalogue, not made up on the doorstep.
